A Magical SEN Music Moment at Blossoms
Hi! I’m David, one of the musician facilitators at T.I.M.E.
Recently, Rob and I had the pleasure of delivering two music sessions at Blossoms, a stay and play SEN group that operates on the weekends and school holidays. Blossoms gives children and their parents quality time together in an environment made for them. We always have a wonderful time there. But this time there was a moment that really stood out.
Meeting Millie
As I was introducing myself to the children and their carers, I met Millie. She told me her name with a big smile - the kind that lights up a room.
I asked her what her favourite song was and she didn’t hesitate:
“This is Me” the song from The Greatest Showman.
She proudly told me that she knew all the words and could sign the whole song.
Near the end of the session, we invited Millie up to join us. As we performed her favourite song, she signed and sang right alongside us. Her joy lit up the room. It was one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do at T.I.M.E.
A Message from Ellie, Founder of Blossoms
After the session, Ellie shared her reflections :
"Rob & David,
I just wanted to send you this quick message just say thank you for yesterday. You really are amazing and you don’t realise the impact and the special times you gave those children yesterday. I love more than anything how you pay attention to even the tiniest of details and make sure everyone is include, regardless of them sitting in front of you or tucked in a corner.
A special personal thank you for singing ‘This Is Me” for Millie. I care for Millie at her school and that just meant everything to us and her family- thank you.

The joy of self expression
The room was full of music, movement, and connection. Children and parents enjoying the session together, each in their own way. Blossoms continues to be a place where families can simply be themselves, and we’re honoured to be part of that.
We can’t wait to be back.
